An Innovative Flagship

Development is underway on the Health Research Education Facility or HREF. This is the first private sector building in the health precinct to have begun.

HREF is a purpose-built facility that will be home to health education, professional development and research activities. Canterbury DHB and the Ara Institute of Canterbury will be joint tenants with more than 2000 nursing, midwifery and medical imaging students expected to undertake their studies here. The University of Canterbury will also have a presence at HREF.
